Do I need permits for a kitchen or bathroom renovation?

Yes. Any plumbing or electrical relocation, structural changes, or wall removals require permits in OC cities. Cosmetic finish swaps (cabinets, counters, tile) usually don't. Avorino pulls every required permit under our General-B License #1107538 and carries final inspection for you.

Can you renovate while we live in the home?

For partial-scope work (single bath, primary suite, single-room kitchen): yes, with dust walls, daily-clean protocols, and a working-bath plan. For whole-house gut renovations we recommend short-term lodging; the build is faster and cleaner with the house empty. We'll lay out both options during the discovery call.

What's the difference between a renovation and a remodel?

We use them interchangeably, but technically a remodel changes the layout (move walls, relocate plumbing, restructure the floor plan), while a renovation refreshes the existing layout with new finishes, cabinetry, and fixtures. Avorino does both, and most projects end up being a mix of the two.
